Recruitment Underway for Paid Call Firefighters

Crest Forest Fire Protection District Seeks Applicants

Crestline, CA - Paid Call firefighters are being recruited by the Crest Forest Fire Protection District.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, in good physical condition and have a valid California driver's license.

Crest Forest Fire officials indicate that as a paid call firefighter, applicants receive the necessary training and equipment to fight fire, respond to media-aid calls and traffic accidents.

District paid call firefighters carry pagers and respond to calls when they are available, as part of a paid call company. Members are committed to attending two nights of training each month.

Michael P. Neufeld, Senior News Editor, is a graduate of the Dwight Bentel School of Journalism at San Jose State University. His first job out of San Jose State was with the Associated Press in Los Angeles as overnight Radio Editor.
