A pet peeve of mine is punctuality. Maybe it comes from my upbringing; my parents taught me to respect others time. Maybe it's from my time in the military; anyone who has served in the military can tell you about the consequences of being late.

With the destruction of over 400 homes in our local mountains, many of our neighbors will be dealing with the need to rebuild and start the next "post fire" phase of their lives. In a disaster such as this, many con artists see this as an opportunity to take advantage of those who have lost their homes.

Liverpool was a large city; the docks seemed miles in extent along the riverfront, built of granite in square basins opening into each other and also into the river. People of all kinds and conditions and colours and tongues. Police and custom house officers everywhere prying into your parcels and even tea kettles.

Blog: Rules of the Silver Sardine Can (Dave Henderson)
May 9, 2007
In my previous life, I lived out of a suitcase. I had a home but was never in it. An average week was to rise early Monday morning bound for the local airport to board the Silver Sardine Can and not return home until Friday.
