Big Bear Sheriff's Department Press Release

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2007, deputies from the Big Bear Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a school crime at Big Bear Middle School. A preliminary investigation of the matter revealed that school administrators had been notified that some students were making criminal threats toward other students.

Judge Denies Release of Arson Suspect

Victorville, CA – Judge Robert Law has denied the request of 48-year-old John Alfred Rund to be released on his own recognizance. The ruling means Rund, who is a suspected arsonist, will remain in custody at the West Valley Detention Center (WVDC) in Rancho Cucamonga until his next scheduled court appearance on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. in Department V-8.

False Report of Emergency Leads to Arrest

San Bernardino County Sheriff's detectives have arrested 41-year-old Pablo Gonzalez on suspicion of falsely reporting an emergency. A news release issued by the Twin Peaks Sheriff's office offered the following details: Gonzalez (aka Jesse Arsie) contacted his girlfriend—Monica Binder in Oregon—claiming he was fighting the fire in Silverado Canyon and had become trapped by the fire.
