Grass Valley Fire Burglary Suspects Arraigned (Update 2)

San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies have been making extra area checks of the Grass Valley and Slide Fire areas since a "state of emergency" was declared by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Friday (December 14) deputies made two more felony arrests of individuals who allegedly burglarized or looted dwellings within the emergency zone. One suspect was arraigned Tuesday, December 18 and another, Wednesday, December 19.

On Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at approximately 1:45 pm, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff's Station were notified by a reporting party via cell phone that Blauer Ski & Board Rentals in Big Bear Lake had been burglarized. Six suspects were arrested in Arrowbear after being stopped by the California Highway Patrol.

A high-speed pursuit of a vehicle stolen from a Lake Arrowhead residence ended with the arrest of a suspect identified at Robert Leo Spargo, 29. But it took an extensive search of the Old Waterman Canyon Road area by deputies and CHP units with the assist of two Sheriff's Department helicopters and area residents to finally locate the suspect.
