Community Meeting on Crime HeldHosted by Lake Arrowhead Chamber By Michael P. Neufeld Lake Arrowhead, CA – A series of break-ins and burglaries has local residents and businesses on edge so a special Community Meeting on Crime was held October 8 at the Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa.
The meeting, sponsored by the Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce, will feature presentations by representatives of the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station, San Bernardino County Fire and local alarm and security companies.

Captain Tony Nicassio is expected to address a rash of recent crimes in the mountain communities and Sheriff Service Specialist Pat Essary will offer ways residents and merchants can protect themselves and assist law enforcement officers.
Speakers will answer questions and concerns and agency officials will discuss strategies to prevent crime.
"I urge mountain residents and businesses to come together," Blue Jay businessperson Katie Carson (Health Habitat/Carson's Herbals), "and stand up and speak out."
The current increase in crime may be due to high unemployment, low wages, and lack of job access. Securing funds for drugs have also apparently played a role in some of the break-ins.
