Horseback Rider Airlifted to Loma Linda (Update 2)

Update 2 — Saturday 2:19 p.m.
Holcomb Valley — Shortly before 1 p.m. today, a horseback rider on Forest Service Road 3N07 was reported down. The patient was eventually airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical.
Medical personnel report the rider was alert and conscious when hoisted into the chopper.
Update — Saturday 1:38p.m.
Holcomb Valley — Big Bear City Fire personnel are transporting the injured rider to the landing zone at Holcomb Valley Campground where they will meet the Sheriff's Department helicopter.
The airship will be at the site shortly to transport the victim to an area hospital.

Holcomb Valley – Shortly before 1 p.m. today, a horseback rider on Forest Service Road 3N07 was reported down and had bleeding from the ears in the Holcomb Valley area, according to scanner reports.
A San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department helicopter was ordered to extract the accident victim while medical personnel are hiking into the area. The helicopter was refueling in Rialto and then scheduled to head to the scene of the incident. The rider was reportedly unresponsive, according to scanner transmissions.
