San Bernardino, CA - The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors have approved a $70,180 construction contract to renovate the south beach parking lot at Lake Gregory Regional Park.

The project entails resurfacing the existing parking lot on the lake's southern shore. The construction will also include drainage improvements to prevent water damage to the lot.

The renovation project, awarded to International Paving Solutions, Inc. from San Bernardino, is slated to begin later this month and should be completed in September.

The project will require two full-day closures of the lot. Signs will direct visitors to other parking areas at the park.

Supervisors included re-striping of the lot and providing ADA compliant parking stalls.

The project was advertised on June 12 and ten (10) contractors attended the mandatory job walk on June 24. On July 2, eight (8) bids were received.

San Bernardino County Regional Parks recently completed a maintenance project at the park's north shore parking lot. In addition, the parking lot near the San Moritz Lodge was improved, and more than 70 spaces were added to accommodate park visitors.

"Lake Gregory is a treasured asset in the Crestline communities, and the County is committed to preserving and improving access to the lake and its full compliment of amenities," said Board of Supervisors Chairman Paul Biane, who represents the Crestline communities as the County's Second District Supervisor.

Activities at the 150-acre Lake Gregory Regional Park include swimming, fishing, canoeing, and picnicking. In addition, two paths – the inner and outer Lake Gregory trails – loop around the alpine lake. Lake Gregory Regional Park can be reached by calling (909) 338-2233.
