Fire Near Monument Peak Contained (Update 2)

Update 5:45 p.m.

Cedarpines Park, CA — The incident commander stated at 5:32 p.m. that the "hose lay is tied in at this time". Helicopter 534 returned to Heaps Peak but remains on hold as the crew remains on scene for mop up.

Update 5:20 p.m.

Cedarpines Park, CA — The "Monument Fire" is holding at approximately 1/2 to 3/4 acre according to Air Attack. The two SEATS (single engine air tankers) were released, however two helicopters continue to scoop water from Silverwood Lake to drop on the fire.

At 5:11 p.m., air attack reported that "very little smoke is showing".

Cedarpines Park, CA — Firefighters responded to a fire near Monument Peak at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Helicopter 534 from Heaps Peak reports the fire is 1/2 an acre, backing down the mountain, but is slow moving.
