Update 4 — Monday 4:12 a.m.
Firefighters quickly knocked down a wildfire Sunday afternoon off Forest Service Road 1N09 near the Shooting Range. An illegal shooter was cited at the request of the incident commander.
Ground crews assisted by aerial support and water tenders conducted mop-up operations well into the night.
The fire started at 1:30 p.m. and smoke was visible from several locations including motorists on Highway 18.
Information on the citation issued to the illegal shooter did not indicate whether it was believed the cause of the fire was related to the discharge of firearms. The investigation continues.
The Shooting Range is posted as closed.
Update 3 — Sunday 2:14 p.m.
Firefighters report the wildfire off Highway 330 near FS 1N09 has been contained at about seven (7) acres.
Incident commanders expect the mop-up to continuie for the next 3-4 hours.
Engines are now being returned to service. However, two water tenders have been requested to assist in the mop-up.
Update 2 — Sunday 1:57 a.m.
Firefighters apparently have a handle on the wildfire off Highway 330 near Forest Service Road 1N09.
Scanner reports indicate units on scene have the fire knocked down.

Scanner reports indicate firefighters are making progress on the wildfire off Highway 330 near Forest Service Road 1N09.
US Forest Service investigators are en route to the incident with an ETA of about an hour.
Scanner transmissions reveal the fire may have been caused by a vehicle fire but authorities are still trying to locate the vehicle.
Original Story 1:30 p.m.
Fire crews are responding to a vegetation fire reported to be off of 1N09 and SR330.
Dispatch has received numerous calls about the fire including one from a Highway 18 motorist who said, "I can see a fire on the 330."
The fire is reportedly close to the City Creek Ranger Station and the lower passing lane on Higway 330.
