Navato Engineer Steve Rucker who lost his life this day on the Cedar Fire in 2003. Steve was a dearly loved son, father, and brother who gave so much of his heart for those he loved. Those you worked with dearly miss you. Let's all observe a moment of silence for Steve.

*Now join together in a moment of silence.* (gave names of firefighters)

*Note- a prayer was offered for the firefighters - however unable to see through the tears to transcribe.

Note: At noon today all firefighters on the lines will be pausing for a moment of silence to honor the memory of the five firefighters from BDF Engine 57 who were killed fighting the Esparanza fire one year ago today. Those firefighters were: Fire Captain Mark Loutzenhiser; Engineers Jason McKay and Jess McLean; Firefighters Daniel Hoover-Najera and Pablo Cerda. The men were killed when overrun by fire while doing structure protection in the community of Twin Pines, near Cabazon.
