Firefighting Q&A

ok ok ok everyone... let me get my 2 cents in here not only as an EMT but also as wife of a local firefighter. CYNTHIA PAY CLOSE ATTENTION!!! Right after high school I went to EMT school, since then I have worked on ambulances as well as with in the hospital setting. In other words I have lots of experience in the field and know what I am talking about... not to mention I also have a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management. Oh and by the way I am dyslexic AND very competent in what I do.

Many of the greatest minds of all time have been dyslexic.

For Cynthia to believe otherwise just shows how much of an idiot she truly is. From what I gather Cynthia1957 ... you may have been born in 1957 which means you may be one of the many baby boomers who really need to be kissing major ass to all healthcare and EMS personnel. If you were educated at all you would realize that the US does not have enough hospital beds, assisted living, con home beds or personnel to facilitate 10 percent of the baby boomers when they become bed ridden and can not care for themselves. That means 90 percent of the baby boomers will be dependent on family or in home nurses ect.

THAT being said you need to realize that ALL medical and EMS staff began as students, if there were not students today there would be no medical staff left in the US to replace the out going/ retiring individuals. That means we would revert back to the days of the plague when no one knew how to treat a boo boo or a major aliment like cancer. STUDENTS ARE A NECESSITY!!!! CYNTHIA if you do not want to have a student working on you learn to take care of yourself, learn to mix your own medication and give it to yourself. There is no getting away from students live with it or care for yourself.

Vicki don’t let your son give up, learning medical terms in addition to spelling medical terms correctly can be overwhelming. The EMT school I went to prides themselves on their failure rate as well as producing the best EMT's in California. In a class that began as 60 plus ended with 9 but only 7 passed. Let me tell you and your son it feels great knowing that I can tell someone how wrong they are about dyslexic individuals in the medical industry. Besides she is probably one of the many individuals who calls 911 for some BS reason like toe pain at 2 am when she could get off her ass and go to the hospital herself.
