We have only seen almost no squirrels around our home this year. Does anyone know if the is a problem with them ? Can they get mange?

The coyotes are not around as much as they were last year. I know during the winter we would see them, very thin and with little or no fur. The mange was bad this year amoung them.

Maybe it killed alot of them off.

How close are you to the fires of last year? Habitats being destroyed has a huge effect over a large area around such zones. Rodent populations fluctuate according to food supply and predation by all their hungry upfoodchain buddies.

We have squirrels and are very close to the fire areas but where are all the hummingbirds? Last year we had alot and could barely keep the feeder full. I have seen one and it was flirting with the red reflector we have out front.

bevl! Us too! I bought a new wine hummer feeder, but nothing on either one (we had that same ONE that prompted us to put up the feeder, same one????) . Are they waiting for the BEES? to check them out? Yuck!

Squirrels (grey ones) like to swing in our trees, if you don't have them anymore(trees), maybe that's why?
So, please come and pick up your squirrels! Anytime!

How about an exchange, you can have all of our little green
roller worms for a few squirrels.

We have lived here for 20 years and this is the first years with out squirrels and very few Blue Jays.We have a lot of trees and live on the south side of the lake here in Crestline.

Our leaf roller problem didn't happen last year. We sprayed, our neighbors didn't, the Oak trees looked the same.

3 years ago, the rollers got every last leaf on our 2 Oaks.

I hope I didn't jump the gun, I cancelled the spraying for this year yesterday. Normally we have a ton of webs coming off the trees, this year none, so if we do have a few our Blue Bird pair will hopefully feast on them.

If I'm wrong, we're screwed.

Call Home Defenders (local, Rim Forest office) for annual spraying, it works.

Sevin is good stuff!
