Appreciate the update... we will keep looking until you post that he's been found. I'm keeping a special eye on the house full of illegals (that I mentioned in a previous post), as I live very close to them. The neighbor kid said that she heard a dog barking inside the house, and
they are known dog thieves. It seems remarkable to me that every time you have posted flyers, all of the ones near their house get torn down pretty quickly. I may sound bitter, but these are bad people. Anyway, if they have your dog I WILL find out.
And, again, we (me and my kids) are always keeping an eye out, anywhere, for Lefty...

Slick: Wow. Thanks.
KDog: Thanks for keeping an eye out. I appreciate it. There are still flyers up around our area, but some are down due to the weather. I am hopeful.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I do want to respond to why I never called the cops. I am 100% that nothing would happen! Even IF the family were to "confess" to having the dog, hey, they only took in a stray, right? Just trying to help... Also, law enforcement doesn't seem to touch illegals. If MY house were searched with a search warrant, it would be a big annoyance, but I'd have to live with it. However, if a house full of illegals were searched with a search warrant, everybody from the ACLU to La Raza would be jumping down the Sheriff's throat for racism and oppresion of the hard working people who only want to serve us evil white people. Being an illegal in the US is not only allowed, but it comes with special privileges. Pardon my cynicism... that's just the way it is.
So, rather than waste my breath on a worthless phone call to police, I'll sit back, watch for these dirtbags to screw up, and I'll take care of business my way. I did not use the word "vigilante..." Did not say it. Didn't.
However, I'll say this: If I see the dog, I'll get it back to its rightful owner. And for the record, I'm not motivated by reward (I would decline any reward for returning a pet, anytime). I am motivated by the fact that for all of the bad people out there, there need to be enough good people to counter them. I want to be one of the good people...

k- dog Thanks for everything you are doing trying to find lefty for the owner and also your absol right about nothing will be done if you were to call the authorities. I believe there are enough calls going out for the sherriff and they just cannot respond to all of them If these people have lefty and his owners confront them it will probally go to a court case to be settled because even thouth they prob took off the 2 collars that lefty had on he would be a stray in anyone elses eyes. all we can do is pray that if this is so our higher up will see to it that lefty goes home. again THANK YOU for everything you are doing your efforts are being recognized

Oh dear! This so distresses me as it is so reminiscent of our sad and tragic experience with these, hmmmmmmm, Hispanics who stole our granddog chi, Piggy, last August, 2007. And, yes my son (who is a police officer down the hill) went to their front door and as he approached, he HEARD Piggy barking inside. Of course, the people inside DENIED even having a dog. Duh! My son left and went home and immediately phoned the Sheriff's Dept and a deputy did meet him at the house. The people did allow him in to "check out" the house inside and he saw no dog (even though he heard it barking as he approached the house). Of course, who knows which closet someone was hidden in with Piggy, holding her still. Without a search warrant the deputy could not open closets, etc. These people DENIED even having a dog at all yet the two small children told the deputy yes they had two small doggies, a white one and a new little tan one, and there were two dog bowls (a red one and a blue one) on their back deck. The children told the deputy the dogs were with their Godmother at the time. As several of us were outside at the street waiting while the deputy was inside the house a hispanic female came out of the house with a large bag and got into a van across the street. Hmmmmm! The younger woman in this house "demanded" an apology from my son to her mother for his accusations. OMG, the arrogance these people have!!! They sadly have the idea that they are OWED privileges in our country and that they OWN what is not theirs. Tragic! It sickens me! I am so sorry that you are having to go through this heartache and injustice as we did. BTW, Piggy has never come back to her loving family and home.

Soooooooo sad!

KDog- No, sadly. My son thinks that he's made a "nest " in the forest. He has hope. I listen to dogs all night bark. There is a dog on the other side of Brookside that sounds like him, but whenever I get over there, I no longer hear it. My heart tells me some jerk has him. Thanks for asking.

I'm sorry to hear that... one reason I asked is because I have seen, a number of times, a woman and a small boy out walking a little dog (in the Brookside/ Oak/ Sequoia area) that seems to look like Lefty (from the pic). I thought perhaps you'd gotten him back, and that was you out walking him. I wonder if that might BE Lefty, uh, under new ownership, so to speak. Maybe I'll see if I can find out any more about the dog. I'll keep you posted if I find out anything interesting.
