It may be frustrating, but the only alternative is to move off the mountain, or just stay at home!!

KITTYGIRL: They do have signs warning of chain requirements. They do not hire idiots to operate the snow plows but do supplement full time employees with seasonal hires to make sure they can operate the necessary equipment. Not all have years of experience. Your complaints indicate a failure to thrive. I concur with the move suggestion. You clearly are high maintenance and not happy in our special place.

I love it up here! I am ready for winter. Wood is stacked, decks cleared off, sleds and snowboards ready. All winter gear for the family ready to go. Hot chocolate and marshmellows in the pantry. Chains in all the cars. As for the plows, the long waits in lines to get home, the flatlanders ect its all part of living in the mountains. I work dth and it can be frustating but I keep a book on tape to listen to in the lines. And a bit of gravel for the flatlanders to throw at them when they stop in the middle of the road to chain...ha ha just kidding. I learned after my first year to plan ahead.(we have been here almost 8 yrs) I also keep extra clothes in the car just in case I can't make it up. I can not imagine living anywhere else or raising my children anywhere else. Bring on the snow!!!!!!

just got my new snow shovels from Lowes in Highland. I got the black heavy duty model so it will kick butt...with me as the operator! Lowes still has a couple left if anyone needs a good one.
