Welcome to Running Springs...

This is a map of Valley Ridge at Wilderness {A} and Marcella at Deer Lick just above Old City Creek {B}.

Hopefully this will help.

DieselDave - sounds like the bear was in your neck of the woods!

With all the recent fires we all knew this would happen especially with the the most recent that burned out the valley from Green Valley Lake to Runnings Springs. Bears are just looking for food and shelter. I hope that they will not have to be removed from the forest, but if their only choice is to live amongst us, this may have consequences.

I am sorry to say my vehicle and a bear had a bump and run on the 28th, last Wednesday morning. It happened about 08:40 on my way back from getting gas in Arrowbear. He came running down the hill between Keller Peak road and Running Springs School road. I slammed on the breaks and heard a bang crunch. The bear jumped up and ran straight up the hill towards the Nordic Tract area. I was expecting to find the Bear stuck under my front end but he/she ran so fast I could not believe it. I called Animal Control as soon as I got home and made the report.

Everyone Please Keep An Eye Out For ALL The Displaced Animals From The Fires. It will take years to restore their natural homes. Slow Down and Keep An Eye Out.
