God is showing off again!

"And there were added that day about three thousand souls" (Acts 2:41).

The story gets even better! It turns out that the Assyrians were Nestorian heretics who repented of their heresy in order to come home to Christ's Church....after having been away for around 1,500 years!

There have been Christians in Syria and Lebenon who continued to practice their beliefs. Many have died for their beliefs. Some excaped to the US. I knew one who came here in the late 1800, my great grandfather a Lebenese Christian who lived in Syria. He died when I was young and he was in his 90's but I still remember him. Not all Arabs are Muslam or Islamic. There are many christians who give their children christian arab names. BTW: If you ever met me I would appear to be nothing more or less then a white christian. Race and racism is a funny thing. I will hope with you that there is hope for religious freedom in the middle east. I know my great grand parents came here way back then to escape it. With what I know about Arab families it seems an insurmountable job to me.

Hi Shelli!

I have a couple of friends who are Christian Arabs. Believe me, I read up a lot about the struggles of Christians in the Middle East, that way I know what to pray for on their behalf. Our brothers and sisters over there are going through persecutions we can't imagine.

God bless you!

Johnny

I'm glad you liked it Johnny. I was really happy to see that there was someone who knew that Arabs are not all Muslum or Islamic. Hope your having a great day.

I heard this lady speak, and she told some amazing stories about Christian persecution in Lebanon:

LMG, thanks for reminding me about Brigitte Gabriel. The next time I hear some wingnut bitch about Christians, all the while defending Islamic terrorists (In hard-leftspeak they're called "freedom fighters" , I'll point them to her website.

A blessed day to you too, Shelli!

Funny thing about my Christian Arab pals: one is a restaurant manager and one is a rock star. How's that for whacky? LOL

Yeah another little known fact about Lebanese Americans is that most are hard working, sucessful, acclaimated, devout americans and christians.
