An update - we had a consultation yesterday at Yale with a medical oncologist. What a wonderful place Yale is! I don't know what I was expecting when we went into the cancer center but my stomach was in knots. Everyone from the receptionist to the dietitian was amazing. They literally radiated positive energy and hope. This week is going to be hectic as he will be starting chemo next Monday. The doctor he is going to is one of the best in the world and was one of the doctors active in the development of a cancer drug in 2004 that has completely changed the treatment of colon cancer. Without going into the gory details, it is able to stop the supply of nutrients to the tumor(s) while allowing the the chemo to do it's work. It has greatly increased the survival rate of stage 4 so we have hope and hope is a gift that I wasn't expecting to receive.

Thank you again to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It's going to be a battle but we'll get though it.
