The new crosswalk looks really good! You can see people who are at the crosswalk it took what a month to make and how much money????? So tell me why are people still crossing from points at the road where there is no crosswalk or worst yet you can't see them very well??????
USE THE CROSS WALK THAT'S WHAT IT IS FOR!!!!!

I still kind or think a couple of stop signs and brightly painted lines would have done the same thing. On a side trip in Sangor last week, their stop signs had solar powered red flashing lights around them.

In Corona the cross walk across Main Street (just off the freeway) has lighted Botts Dots type things in the pavement. They light up and make you really aware that you are getting close to a cross walk. Where people actually cross the street.

What a concept. Light up the area. Make it safe for people. Have blinky, blinky lights that gets attention. Gosh, what a concept. I'm sure the state (of course the neighborhood CAN) come up with a better solution for safely crossing the street.

What a concept. Safety.

I like it. I think they could put nice buckets on each side with a few bright yellow flags to wave as you cross to get the distracted drivers' attention just in case. When they painted those curbs white I thought they were dopes, but then they covered the white paint with yellow and the new crosswalk curb shows up thank goodness.

I just think, if you put up just ONE more stop sign, it would easily give peeps a chance to see if anyone was trying to cross the street. (And maybe a chance for another ticket! Instead, we have limited parking, big flashing warning lights behind beautiful trees, and a big no zone in the middle.??

But, I'm sure it is to code

I've seen the "blinking" crosswalks in many areas of the state and when I saw the crosswalk pole lights going up in Blue Jay I assumed the next part of the project was the blinking lights in the pavement. Too bad they didn't go that extra step and install them, too.

I hope someone tells the snowplow drivers or there will be some pissed off county workers come winter time.

I think the whole thing is a gaudy blight on Blue Jay. Speed bumps would have done the job.

I wonder how many people have been injured or killed at that crosswalk compared to the number on highway 18 in any given year. Don't flame me... I know ONE is too many.

One day I was going to cross with my daughter and a jeep stopped for us but a camaro was coming fast behind him and I just pulled my daughter out of the way in time to see the camaro slam into the jeep and push it thru the crosswalk and about 20 ft. past it.

A very nice elderly man and his daughter were killed in the crosswalk a few years ago. Tragic. The driver was blinded by the lowering sun. Tragic accident that both families will deal with for a long time.

Now, if there was a flashing Stop Sign, like I mentioned before, I don't think it would have happened, and would have saved tens of thousands of dollars. JMO

New crosswalk: good idea

Built-up concrete walkway: What are they thinking? What's gonna happen when it snows and the plows have to clear the road? DUH

Hopefully the plow doesn't take out the built up sidewalk, but the sidewalk does make it easier for the driver approaching the crosswalk to see people waiting to cross. Before this the people would be behind parked cars. I had some idiot go around me when I stopped to let a woman and her three little ones cross the street. They were already in the crosswalk when this person drove around me. Thank goodness the woman saw the driver, so nothing happened.
