Does anyone know what caused the kid to run?
I'm just grateful that no one was hurt!!

Whoopty doo. A mischevious teen. Is this even news?
Sent: Friday, May 16, 2008 01:20 PM
It would be a far worse story if they were scraping his body off the pavement or the bodies of some family he crashed into. If you watch the video of his driving, you'll clearly see this is far worse than being "mischievous". Fleeing police, driving recklessly, jeopardizing your life, and other people's lives rises to the occasion of news -- except, of course for the absentee parents who encourage this delinquent behavior in their kids or those of the general public who seem to think its minor. Then we end up with 3 dead kids with their bodies sprawled on Highway 18 a few days before Christmas. But, I suppose that driver was also just being "mischievous."

I admit that I havn't watched the video, but figured it wasn't anything different then we used to do as kids. I grew up in rural Riverside, back when it was more rural than up here. When the OC's started moving to the Riverside hills around 82-83, they would call the sheriff whenever we would ride our dirt bikes in the hills. They would chase us on the dirt roads and up Van Buren to Woodcrest, and we would outrun and ditch them. It was a daily occurence in the summertime. They did finally catch us, and when they did, they roughed us up and emptied our gas from our tanks onto the dirt. It was a long walk home. We never told our parents because we would've received worse at home. BTW, if I remember correctly, weren't the "kids" involved in the Dec crash a combination of adults and teens?
