THIS IS VERY DISTURBING!

We have yet to use those planes locally and it is a different excuse every year. Last year they just claimed they did fine because a few missions were run near the end of the fires. It took days to get them staged and equipment installed.

I have seen helicopters in the Los Angeles area making night drops. Apparently this is in violation of Calfire policies, but they are equipped with night vision capability and they train for night ops.

I am mad and I'm not going to take it anymore!

I am sick and tired of the current Federal Administrations lack of leadership and constant lies. It makes me ashamed to be a member of the Republican Party. I, along with many others are changing parties to join the Independents. It was such a joke listening to the excuses the Feds gave on why they couldn't get the big water dropping equipment to the fires last year. The bad part is, that there are many who are still fooled by this administration.

FYI the DC 10 is still not allowed on a USFS fire, due to red card certs. The C130 is a very good work horse and how can a part or confirguation take over a year more? Maybe that answer gets the Senators off their tail!

Wasn't a privately owned DC-10 on the Slide and Grass Valley fire from day two? Or was that a 727?
Sent: Monday, May 19, 2008 11:01 PM
Yes on the DC-10. This one should be properly put in the lap of the State. Regardless of whether it is the Gov or the folks in the legislature, it comes down to $$. While the legislature dithers over raising the tax on beer (D- San Jose Assemblyman Jim Beall), WE THE PEOPLE......
