I know for some people, its not a bit deal, but we had 4 beautiful does walk right by our home last night. My daughter just happened to look out the window and saw the 1st one and called me. I know that deer are up here, but it's our first sighting.

For six years I never saw a deer up here, everywhere else in the country, yes, but not up here. Then, beginning about a year ago, I've seen four or five....

I still haven't seen one but others on the other side of the creek have. Maybe they're too smart to come near Hook Creek Rd and end up as roadkill!

That's just way too cool Cypress!!! The only wildlife we saw when we owned your cabin (before you beautifully rebuilt it) were coyotes and squirrels. Ken and Rosemarie (below us) had a bear regularly visit their trash cans and, after a while the bear had a coyote sidekick with it. They ate together. We had a big bear paw print right outside our front door one morning. I think I sent you a picture of it that I had taken.

Dave saw a deer one early morning a couple of years ago on the back 138 on his way to work. But, I haven't seen one here....bummer.

Hey KathyM: We saw bear & large cat prints in the snow but haven't seen any actual animals. Chy and I have seen alot of raccoons, coyotes and squirrels but the deer were definately the coolest so far. It was just luck that Chy looked outside at the right moment. Thanks for your call about my mom - I'll call you soon.
