Cedarpines Park

The meeting tonight gave me no reason to believe that a board of Cedarpines Park volunteers can run a water company despite their best intentions.
More than ever I would be interested in a proposal from an established company with a proven track record like Crestline Village Water District.
I agree with the person at the meeting who said it should have been done 20 years ago. I cannot imagine that we would be in the shape that we are in now, if that had happened.

So RonCPP...how did the meeting go?

The General Manager, Sonny Gowan gave the board his 30day notice of resignation. That's the husband/wife team (contractors) that are now said to be making 150,000/yr salary.

Did you not understand that that is not an option?...no company is going to want to absorb the $1.4 mil loan, and fed regulations of the loan prevent a sale. If they can't operate, the loan becomes due from all of us.

Also, Sonny said they hired some company DTH to update the company website for about $1500. Only 1 page of the website needs minor updating and that's the minutes page! Boy, would I have loved to have that contract!!!

Canyon Vista project ??? the board refused to talk about it because of a pending lawsuit. Hmmm, more to come later on that I guess.

Huge turnout. B.Steiner said there were so many people it was probably violating the fire laws about too many people in the building. It was suggested that next meeting be held at VOE school if this many people showed up at NOV meeting. Some people had to stand outside and look/listen thru windows....and it was a wee-bit cool outside tonight tooooooo.

Financial reports for JUL-AUG-SEP not available because of some computer upgrade - they "MAY" be available mid-NOV. Review of minutes for AUG 18 and SEP 17 still waiting for approval. Anybody else remember some other highlights???

Can't RonCPP update the website on his own time just because...he knows how?

What the community needs is a board made by and from the community not the Good ol Boys club. We need to all get on the proxy's and get them all out and see just how much goes to running a company. We cant do any worse than this board has that's for sure .

I was unable to attend, and by the recent posts, I can't really tell what happened. Can anyone who was at the meeting please briefly inform me and the others who were unable to attend what happened? This would REALLY be appreciated since the "minutes" will probably take months to prepare. Thank you.

Patti - Roncpp is busy telling Rec and Parks how fund raisers won't help them. Amazing how he can run everything on the mountain but his own community. BTW CPP does not pay any tax for Rec and Parks even though they are welcome to use the facilities and programs.

This was a statement made by ONE board member who clearly wants no part of any
talks between Crestline Village and Cedarpines Park Water. His statements are
untrue as pointed out by attorney Pat Marley at last nights meeting.

Pat Marley went on to say that there are several ways in which Crestline
Village can be helpful and instrumental in managing this company.

We are awaiting our Board President Perry Dahlstrom , to write a letter
requesting a meeting to see different options for them to assist or manage this
company.

It was interesting to me to hear Ron Albright admit last night that:

"BOARD CANNOT MANAGE WATER COMPANY"
"SMALL COMPANIES TYPICALLY FAIL"
"SHARES HAVE NO PAR VALUE"
"WERE JUST VOLUNTEERS"

even the new manager stated:

"WE ARE HEADED FOR RECEIVERSHIP"

I for one do not want another bunch of "well intended" folk who do not know how
to run a water company, running this company!!!!!

I want a proven company like Crestline Village to sit down and talk with our
company and talk about options.

The proposed "merger" with another company is a completely different matter from a proposed management contract with another entity. Until ECS submitted their resignation Tuesday evening, that was not contemplated. Marley's "negotiations" apparently anticipated the need. ECS provided licensed and qualified operators of the utility and has made huge strides in six months to clean up accumulated record keeping, office procedures in billing, and Sonny Gowan has undertaken the training and daily supervision of our remaining field staff in operating the water operations. He is a highly respected professional whom the board hired to provide what has been lacking in the recent past.

Impatience and the agendas of a few shareholders have ended this effort. The short term and long term planning which has been discussed in open meetings for a year were not among the topics discussed Tuesday night. It's a moot point.

Little Bow Peep come blow your horn, RonCpp has his head in the corn. Hint: Little Bow Peep was not in the front row, but your nasty attitude was noted far back in the rows. Nice attitude for a board member just shows the shareholders are on the right track. Your right about one thing if we clean up all the crooks and corruption we dont need to go to any other water company. We need to start with the board we are all glad to hear Sonny and company are leaving or is that just smoking mirrors? We'll see if the board has the balls to accept their resignation. Their to expensive for our small 781 customers at $12500 a month.Why cant we keep employees in the office could it be the office clerk in charge is a two headed B---h to work for. As I heard in the meeting "Cant take the heat, get out of the kitchen".

Now lets give some facts, Bylaws article 3 section 3.8 Second paragraph there should be 3 board members beside officers. Next fact article 5 section 5.4 secretary to record all votes and minutes of preceedings etc. Section 5.5 treasure have custody of corporate funds and securities, keep full and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements in books of company. Why is sonny and company doing this against bylaws read your bylaws be informed! Seems board makes their rules as they go.

Bill Steiner Secretary remember last sept meeting he said he was a criminal lawyer, this month he said he was a corporate lawyer he's an idiot! Remember the the third tuesday of each month board meeting remember nov 17 watch for notice that Cheryl Turpin share holder said she would post.Hope the board doesn't stick it to her and not get information to her on time.I doubt that will happen, heard she will take numbers and kick ass.......Go girl.
