I spoke with someone at the AB Water Board office. I was told that the Arrowbear Lake dredging topic is NOT on the agenda as of yet.

It was suggested a written request be submitted no later than Wednesday December 12, 2007. I wrote up a request and put it in the mail today.

I will try and confirm that the issue has been put on the agenda in a few days.

It's full to practically overflowing! Wow that was quick!!
But what's that white foamy stuff? Does not look environmentally safe.

Thanks PD! There is no way I can get up the hill from work on time. Who ever is able to attend, let them know that there are more than a few more of us out there who support the idea.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.

Just wanted to give everyone a message of hope regarding the Arrowbear Lake water dredging issue.

I had an in depth, and very hopeful, conversation with someone who is extremely knowledgeable about our community and Arrowbear Lake. This person is also well versed in Civic procedure. We talked for over an hour and could have gone on for another 2 hours. I trust this person because I got a strong sense that intentions were pure.

I was happy to hear that a plan is being put together. There are some friends and neighbors of ours in Arrowbear that are organizing and laying out a plan. The rest of us, including myself, will be invited to participate soon.

The good news is that it can be done.

Whether there is water in Arrowbear Lake year round for our fire fighters in the NEXT fire depends on how much community support there is. This is what it comes down to folks.

Every one of us must start speaking with our friends and neighbors in our community about this. When, and only when there is community support will we be able to get our elected officials to act.

Let’s count our blessings everyone and enjoy our friends and loved ones this season. Then, let’s get to work in the new year.

WE hope that everyone in our mountain communities, especially our home town of Arrowbear Lake, are having a very Merry Christmas. We are very excited about this community project and will support this very important issue through completion.
Let us all keep this thread alive and moving forward in 2008.

The water in Arrowbear Lake is terrible. Because of stagnant water and rising summer temperatures, it is murky and stinky and a breeding place for mosquitos. This is something that concerns all of us.

One of our neighbors has proactively contacted some officials. He has had some positive discussions and it appears we are going to get some visits by certain interested parties within 24 hours. Yahoo!

I'll keep everyone posted as I get further informed.

Maybe Sabro, who lives only a few hundred feet from the lake, can get involved. He is the president of our yacht club. Mike Scullin even has tee shirts with our name on them for sale. I haven't been by there in two or three weeks. Sometimes it drys up completely by end of July!

Vector control was up today.

The lake is too shallow... too warm and stagnant...

I know that many of the last owners have wanted to develop the old camp property.

Last weekend.. the water looked horrid.. and there were actually a couple of people with fishing lines in there! yuck!

So I talked to Mr. Scullin about the tees... I am looking for the window stickers for my truck! Anyone know of the purchase point for those? I have seen them on other vehicles.. and I need to get one on my truck.

Have a great afternoon...
