To the family of Captain Vance, County Fire, and the residents of AO:

I send my deepest sympathy to all. I know what it is like to have a family member who takes pride in his job and his community. The family has lost a great father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, nephew, cousin. County Fire has lost a true fireman and asset. Angeles Oaks has lost a great community member. My thoughts and prayers to all touched by this wonderful man.

Vance, I'm going to miss you dearly. From the very first day I joined the community and the station you have welcomed me. You have been my partner, my friend, my captain and a father-figure to me. You have done so much for me. My heart will always have a special place for you. My shift will NEVER be the same without you. Please help me get through this. God Bless.
Miss You Always!

Ditto to what Lisa said. Vance was the epitomy of a great leader for our department. Knowing Vance, I'm sure he'll continue to guide us in a spiritual sense, as well as the great training with which he left us.
