The state races are an early test of Obama's political influence.

This article is not about Bubba, but the republican party. Why do Bubba's across this country vote republican, the party that hates, and dosen't care about his fellowman. That is not true regardless of what the left think, and their hatred towards the right. I agree with OldGuy both parties stink not just the republicans.

Sonny that is wishful thinking. Many hope to discern trends from these elections but most are expecting a low turnout and will not mean much to the national trends. They are all unique in some way and hardly represent what the nation will do in 2010. There is way too much that will happen between now and then. But you be sure to tell us what they mean when the results are in.

Sonnybob, I have to go to work now but I wanted to say thank-you for an interesting and fun chat.

Oh no, here comes the Sabro Buddha joke.
Wait for it......

Who are we talking about here? Is it budda or bubba? I am so confused. PG

Ron, thanks for the vote of confidence but I was just mindlessly parroting the title of the link I posted.

IAIA, you're welcome.
I must now go meditate on the Teachings of the Compassionate Bubbha.

Hail to Alan Snyder, a five-star general in the cultural wars, and his quixotic lieutenant SonnyBob. Peaceful coexistence is for pussies! Why mediate when you can escalate?
Yikes, dude. That was quite the brutal salvo. It's hard to believe you don't know what you're doing by posting that crap.
I count some Southerners and some Republicans among my friends and none are described by Snyder's assualt.

Now.....if Bubba were Muslim, an illegal from anywhere else but here, or gay or black or brown these people would be screaming to high heaven. Isn't it rich? I just loooove watching the hypocrisy of the left.
You go, Bubba! Just by your existence you shine a bright light on some people's dark souls.

what's the code about, brendamae?

" Muslim, an illegal from anywhere else but here, or gay or black or brown"
Hmmm... are these the only people that conservatives (and possibly Bubba) are told by their controllers that Liberals really care about? That would be interesting information.
Sent: Tuesday, November 3, 2009 07:14 PM
Controllers? I don't think so.
All we have to do is read the title and first post of this thread. That is quite telling. Bubba may be uneducated, but he isn't stupid. He can recognize contempt from the left. It is right there in that post.

I don't really disagree with that. I don't disagree with the point in the op- that there is a whole group of the electorate... the Bubba vote... that has been lied to and manipulated, I do recognize the offensiveness of the tactic.

Sabro, I don't see that there was a "tactic" & my intent wasn't so much to offend as much as to shed light on what has become an increasingly taboo subject here.
It's a clash of cultures more than anything else. All cultures have their strengths & weaknesses...All cultures.
I've read countless posts on this site bashing & condemning "liberal kooks", "leftie socialists", dem terrorist lovers" etc. & ad nauseum...I've seen vicious personal attacks inflicted on anyone who dares question conservatism & the Republican party line, yourself included.
This OP takes a hard look at (for lack of a better term) "redneck" culture...But it doesn't ignore redneck culture's strengths either & ends with a statement of respect.
Why is one okay & the other not? Sorry but it seems like a double standard to me.

To a point I think both are okay with some limits... the part about it being potentially offensive, is that the offended conservatives they miss the point... a very very good point... because they are totally hung up on the whole "Bubba" thing.
I don't think he was using it to stereotype or limit people or to cast aspersions on them... a real definable group... who wouldn't be offended when using the same terms themselves... unlike what Beachboy and Longtime Resident and others do with the term "liberal"... which they think means something that it does not. (They need to study the Enlightenment...)
